We're evolving.
This spring, we’ll be closing briefly to reopen as two distinct concepts: a new Kitty’s Market and Mr Cat Brasserie.
We opened Kitty’s in 2020. None of us knew what the future held — for the world or for this little corner of Front Street. Over time, what began as an idea grew into something much bigger. We formed lasting friendships, built a true community, and in 2022 expanded into Kitty’s restaurant.
Since then, it’s been a path of adventure, lessons, and connection. But the relationship that has always mattered most is with you — the Hudson Valley locals who live here year-round, embrace all four seasons in their purest forms, and deserve a restaurant as steady and thoughtful as the place you call home.
So we asked ourselves: what would that look like?
Enter: Mr. Cat Brasserie.
Mr. Cat is our love letter to the classic French brasserie. This isn’t about reinvention for reinvention’s sake — it’s about precision. The dishes will feel recognizable and emotionally familiar: steak frites, proper sauces, crisp salads, cold martinis. A restaurant built on rhythm and repetition.
A place you can come on a Wednesday in February or a Saturday in July and know exactly what kind of evening you’re going to have — a proper night out, every time.
And don’t worry — Kitty’s isn’t going anywhere. In fact, it’s getting better.
With thoughtful updates to our building, equipment, and menu, we’re refining Kitty’s into the ultimate grab-and-go café: delicious food you can take on the train, on the road, or back home, alongside excellent coffee and beverages. Kitty’s Market will be built for the daily rhythm of Hudson life — craveable, reliable, and built for the days when you’re in a hurry.
Two distinct spaces. One shared spirit.
To build something this focused, consistent, and lasting, it ultimately comes down to people. Over the next few months we’ll be hiring for both concepts, bringing on great folks across FOH and BOH. People who are hardworking, curious about their craft, and genuinely enjoy taking care of others — the kind who notice the small details, take pride in what they do, and bring their own personality and creativity to the work.

We’ll be closing briefly this spring to make these changes, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for what’s next. Our last day as the Kitty’s you know will be March 22nd, with reopenings planned for late April and early May.
With love,
Nice & Weird Group
P.S. If the name “Mr. Cat” sounds familiar, you’re not wrong. A similar project was once planned for Catskill’s Main Street, but after some unexpected — and ultimately insurmountable — hurdles, this cat is landing on its feet in Hudson after all.
